CURVED GLASS · PROJECT BRIEF

Curved Glass RFQ Guide

For curved glass, “dimensions” alone are not enough. Radius, rise, chord, angle or CAD geometry can determine production method and cost.

How should geometry be defined?

Use CAD or technical drawings where possible, clearly showing radius, overall width/height, arc dimensions and reference points.

What determines mould requirements?

Production method, radius, glass type, dimensions and quantity influence whether a dedicated mould is required.

Can curved glass be tempered or laminated?

It may be possible with suitable process capability, but geometry and make-up should be validated project-by-project.

Why are first-off samples useful?

Where geometry and appearance are critical, a first article or mock-up can reduce production risk.

What commercial information belongs in the RFQ?

Quantity, repeat demand, packing, delivery sequence, project location and target date should accompany the technical drawing.
