Tempered, Laminated, Acoustic and Privacy Glass for Office Partitions

Office-partition glass selection is about more than thickness. Safety, acoustics, privacy, door hardware and the framing system should be considered together.

How do you choose between tempered and laminated?

Panel size, impact risk, door use, safety target and post-breakage behaviour all influence the selection.

When do single and double glazing differ?

Higher acoustic targets or integrated blinds/cavity details can make double-glazed partition systems relevant.

Does acoustic performance come only from the glass?

No. Framing, joints, doors, seals and site installation affect total system performance, so RFQs should state the target at system level.

How can privacy be achieved?

Frosted/satin surfaces, film, ceramic printing or patterned glass can be used; appearance and opacity may be validated by sample.

What belongs in the RFQ?

Provide panel schedule, single/double system, glass type, acoustic target, privacy finish, door/fitting details, quantity and delivery plan.
