Containers, Packing and Logistics for Glass Exports

Freight price alone is not enough in glass logistics. Dimensions, weight, packing method and handling materially change total commercial risk.

Why weight limits matter

Glass is dense. A container can approach its weight limit before its cubic volume is fully used, so load planning must consider thickness and sheet dimensions.

Crates and packing

Wooden crates, A-frames or other systems are selected according to product and transport mode. Restraint and moisture protection are part of export packing.

Breakage and handling risk

Lifting equipment, unloading method and cargo-insurance scope at port, warehouse and site should be clarified in advance.

How to compare prices

A lower EXW quotation can become more expensive after packing and logistics. Compare offers on the same Incoterm and delivery scope.

Project delivery planning

For large projects, phased deliveries may be more practical than maximizing one shipment, especially when storage and installation schedules are constrained.
